Warner Robins Site Visit Explores Smart Technology’s Impact on Public Safety

Warner Robins, GA – The recent site visit in Warner Robins, organized by the Development Authority of Houston County and the Partnership for Inclusive Innovation, showcased the positive impact of smart technology on public safety. Experts and stakeholders shared and learned about the success of the “Citizen Safety Digital Twin for Community Resilience” project, a collaborative effort between Georgia Tech, the Warner Robins Police Department, and Middle Georgia State University.

State Representative Shaw Blackmon started the day emphasizing the importance of partnerships and innovation in advancing public safety efforts. The project’s proactive approach integrated License Plate Readers (LPRs) with Digital Twin technology to detect and deter criminal activities, creating safer communities.

Participants from law enforcement agencies surrounding Warner Robins, including the Houston County District Attorney, and representatives from Macon-Bibb and Peach counties engaged in stimulating conversations, uncovering the full potential of employing LPRs with Digital Twin technology. The event highlighted the value of collaboration, innovation, and technology in ensuring a secure future for Georgia’s communities.
