The PIN Summer Internship (PSI), or the PINternship, connects innovative college students with forward-thinking organizations dedicated to creating a positive impact. Through a competitive application process, the PSI supports innovative solutions to community and organizational challenges by partnering with academic, civic, public, and private organizations and college students to make a positive community impact.

2027 PIN Summer Internship
The PINternship connects innovative college students with forward-thinking organizations to tackle real-world challenges. This competitive, paid, in-person, 12-week internship pairs you with another intern to use innovation, data, and technology to create a positive impact.
The Five W’s and How
- What: A full-time, in-person internship where you work in pairs on projects for a public, private, or civic organization.
- Who: Current college students from technical, community or four-year degree granting colleges or universities from any U.S.-based institution or recent spring graduates.
- Where: On-site, in-person at the organization’s location. 30+ locations across Georgia and the Southeast.
- When: The 12-week program runs from May 17 to August 6, 2027.
- Mandatory Ceremonies: PSI Spark on May 28 and the Emerging Innovators Ceremony on August 6 both in Atlanta, GA.
- Why: Gain hands-on experience, contribute to an impactful project, and build your professional network and social capital.
- How: A single application to apply for up to three (3) of the projects posted on our website between Dec. 1, 2026 – Feb. 1, 2027.

Key Application Dates:
- December 1, 2026: The list of available projects is posted online.
- February 1, 2027: Student application deadline.
Compensation & Requirements:
- Compensation: You will earn $8,000 (after taxes) for the 12-week period, paid bi-weekly.
- Exclusivity: This is a full-time, in-person position. You may not have another job (including but not limited to student assistant, graduate assistantship, or resident assistant), study abroad, or have extended travel during the internship. You must also be authorized to work 40 hours/week in the U.S.

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)
Q1: What happens immediately after the application closes?
A: In early February, our team shares the resumes of all applicants with the hiring teams at the respective project sites.
Q2: When will project leaders begin conducting interviews?
A: Interviews are conducted by project leaders February 8 – 19, 2027. Only those deemed by the project leader to have the skillset and knowledgebase to be successful will be invited to interview. Not everyone will receive an interview.
Q3: When can I expect to receive an offer letter if I am successfully matched?
A: Initial offer letters are sent out in early March. These letters are sent by the PIN Team to interns who have been recommended for hire by a project during the interview process.
Q4: Are these dates guaranteed?
A: The dates listed above are part of our general process and timeline but are subject to change due to the dynamic nature of project staffing and scheduling. We are committed to moving as quickly as possible and appreciate your patience during this process.
