Connecting Talent to Industry

The Emerging Innovators pillar aims to build an ecosystem of talent pipeline and foster connectivity across public, private and non-profit sectors. The PIN Fellowship is an experiential learning-based program that identifies and empowers the next generation of leaders in Georgia and the Southeast to drive growth and innovation across industries and communities. The program serves professionals that are early, mid, and late in their careers in navigating their career paths, strengthening their skill sets, gaining experience and expanding their networks to excel in their respective fields. Through their engagement in the Fellowship, Fellows contribute to a workforce that drives connection between various sectors. Learn more about our program through this informational video.

Fellowship Overview

Compensation

All Fellows are compensated at $53,800 for the 12-month period, no matter the degree level, discipline, or years of experience. Note that the Fellowship is classified as a non-benefits eligible hourly position within Georgia Tech.

Eligibility and Commitment

This program is intended for adult job seekers that are 18 years and older. A college and/or technical degree is not a requirement for participation. Selected Fellows must fully commit to this Fellowship and cannot accept additional employment while in the program during the 12-month-long period.

Industry Vertical Placement and Rotation

In this one-year rotational program, Fellows engage with two organizations (corporate, small business/start-up, non profit, government, or research) within one of the project areas. Each placement will last for 6 months. Fellows will be placed within one of the following projects (based on project availability) that aligns best with their existing expertise, degree and career goals:

  • Sustainability and Conservation (Cleantech): Fellows evaluate the organization’s current operations and provide recommendations to enhance sustainability and environmental responsibility, and/or engage in advocacy and community engagement to advance sustainable practices.
  • AI Manufacturing: Fellows analyze strategies to leverage technology for increased productivity while developing skills in research, leadership and training. These projects are financial supported by the Georgia Artificial Intelligence in Manufacturing (Georgia-AIM) and National Advanced Packaging Manufacturing Program (NAPMP) grants.
  • Supply Chain & Logistics: Fellows collaborate across sectors to identify and implement best practices in effective supply chain management.
  • Information Technology (IT) and Cybersecurity: Fellows contributes to business intelligence and cybersecurity projects, assisting in the creation and protection of organizations’ digital infrastructures.
  • Financial Technology (Fintech): Fellows analyze and implement innovative financial technology to optimize financial services and enhance user experiences.
  • Digital Connectivity: Fellows work on projects that promote intergenerational innovation by teaching digital literacy skills to adults and senior citizens across Georgia.

  • June – Exit Interview & Final Portfolio

Note: Due to the high volume of applications, we will only contact those selected for an interview. This is a competitive process and not all applicants who are selected for interviews will be offered a Fellowship slot.
