Transportation System Resilience
The Inter-Agency Approach to Planning for Transportation System Resilience for Underserved Populations and General Populations will assess sustainability and resilience in case study communities as part of the Smart Community Corps Intern Program for Summer 2022!
Led by Dr. Adjo Amekudzi-Kennedy of Georgia Tech, this project will focus on several communities in Georgia, Texas, and Florida. SCC interns will use qualitative and quantitative research methods to assess these communities’ institutions on resilience and sustainability, and a parallel assessment will be made on their equity and social change. Correlations between these key areas will be made to understand how they affect each other and evolve over time. In addition, the project will conduct spatial-temporal assessments of hazards, vulnerability, risk, and resilience evolution to provide insight on how these communities can best target its weaknesses and facilitate progress.
