Start Up Retail Entrepreneurship

StartUP Columbus is an entrepreneur support organization in Columbus, Georgia seeking to launch its Start Up Retail Entrepreneurship (SURE) program. In the SURE program, entrepreneurs will embark on an 18-month program that includes 12 weeks of retail entrepreneurship training followed by a 12-month lease (for those who qualify) into retail incubation space on Columbus, Georgia’s Main Street and Downtown District.

SCC interns will be responsible for working directly with the cohort of entrepreneurs and ensuring all standards are met for the entrepreneurs to be successful. During the summer, the interns will work directly with the Director of StartUP Columbus to screen and select participants, coordinate with community leaders to serve as guest speakers, work with the Office of the City Manager as participants move into their incubation period, and work with community organizations focused on the development of the entrepreneurial ecosystem in Columbus, Georgia.

With the help of SCC interns, this project will support entrepreneurs in Columbus, Georgia, by educating locals and reducing barriers to entry.
