App Development for Georgia’s Waterways
Science for Georgia (Sci4Ga) and Georgia River Network (GRN) are building the social infrastructure to keep Georgia natives connected with their natural water sources beyond individual challenges.
SCC interns will develop and enhance two mobile apps that draw attention to Georgia’s waterways. To focus on the interconnectedness of water, Sci4Ga launched the project, Scavenger Hunt to the Sea, which promotes the engagement of Georgians with the water-based ecosystems that exist from the mountains down to the Atlantic coast. With the help of skilled interns, this online experience can be made into a mobile app, for easier use and much broader access. Interns will also work to support the Georgia River Guide free mobile app which provides information on river access points, outfitters, camping, and real-time information on river safety conditions.
With the help of SCC interns, this project will build upon the Scavenger Hunt to the Sea and the Georgia River Guide programs to further connect Georgians with their waterways. To view a larger image of this presentation, click here.
