The City of Savannah is developing an accelerator and incubator for the logistics industry in Georgia and beyond as part of the Smart Community Corps Intern Program for Summer 2022!

In 2019, the General Assembly General Resolution Act No. 308 created The Savannah Logistics and Technology Innovation Corridor (“Corridor”). The “Corridor” is an economic development tool intended to grow high-tech industries in Georgia. Following the creation of the “Corridor,” Georgia Southern University and the Savannah Economic Development Authority partnered to create the Savannah Logistics Innovation Center. The Savannah Logistics Innovation Center is one product of a greater movement to create an ecosystem fueled by research and entrepreneurship that enhances supply chain efficiencies and predictability.

Led by Bart Gobeil, the Savannah Logistics Innovation Center has embarked on this project to create an accelerator and incubator that facilitates partnerships between local, regional, national, and international entities in the logistics industry with startup technology companies. By acquainting members of the logistics industry with members of the technology industry, this project hopes to provide logistics companies with technological expertise to maximize their efficiency and success.
