Microsoft – Digital Equity & Inclusion

The PIN fellow will join Microsoft Philanthropies in advancing digital equity and inclusion throughout the region and state. This work centers on stimulating and enabling economic opportunity by cultivating a diverse tech workforce, improving small businesses’ digital fluency and transformation, and partnering with organizations to deliver affordable broadband and devices to underestimated communities. Under the IT & Cybersecurity vertical, a PIN fellow will lead coalitions, engage communities, and create a social impact that Black and Brown Atlantans can see, taste, and feel. PIN fellow will lead, and own bodies of work aligned with internal departments, such as government affairs and Xbox, external partners, including the Accelerate Atlanta workforce coalition, and work alongside some of the greatest minds in the city. The intended outcome of this work is to create a digitally empowered community.  

Digital Empowerment –  

• Empower people through access to affordable broadband, devices, and a digital literacy and skilling continuum.  
• Empower City through tech and tech-enabled improvements to internal systems and service delivery.  
• Empower community through the delivery of social impact programs enabled by technology.  

PIN fellow will lead this work as a catalyst for systemic change while amplifying the impact and championing innovation as a solution to inequities. As a change agent aligned with a local ecosystem and a national community of practice, the fellow can strategically advance the role of the City of Atlanta and community to develop policies, programs, and deliver new technologies to solve the digital divide.
