Smart City Initiatives of Macon-Bibb

Smart City Initiatives of Macon-Bibb

The City of Macon is working to expand its free Wi-Fi initiative. This initiative aims to offer residents opportunities to explore downtown, support small businesses, and learn about Macon’s rich history. Furthermore, Macon is planning to catalog communities with smart street addresses to increase public safety, improve emergency services, and facilitate future growth. Ultimately, the city is hoping to better leverage technology to benefit the Macon-Bibb community.

SCC interns will assist the City of Macon by developing smart cities projects to support Wi-fi expansion and smart street addressing.

With the help of SCC interns, the City of Macon will be able to expand its free Wi-Fi initiative and implement smart street addresses to support tourism, improve safety, and facilitate future growth. To view a larger image of this presentation, click here.
