See All Projects See Project Map

The intern will support the “Data for Georgia” analytics program by connecting communities with concise, actionable, and trustworthy data centered at the intersection of health, socio-economics, and environmental quality. The primary focus is to identify specific community needs, locate and analyze relevant datasets, and translate findings into interactive GIS maps and compelling data stories. These resources are designed to empower local advocates to drive systemic change, secure funding, and influence policy decisions for positive community impact.

In 2026, the intern will contribute to several high-priority projects, including building an index of air permit data and creating a comprehensive dataset focused on regional flooding. Additional responsibilities include mapping the impacts of repeat environmental violators and identifying key geographic locations for forests, agricultural land, and green spaces. Through these storytelling initiatives, the intern will help bridge the gap between complex data and public education to serve current humanitarian and environmental needs.
