City of Albany Internship Project
The City of Albany will analyze the impacts of the growing number of alcohol outlets in and around the City of Albany as part of the Smart Community Corps Intern Program for Summer 2022!
City Manager, Steven Carter, and Interim Assistant City Manager Yvette Fields will work with Dr. Omar Asensio of Georgia Tech and Smart Community Corps interns to research how the increase in alcohol outlets in and adjacent to Albany are affecting the city and its residents. SCC interns will aggregate data from multiple local datasets, then compare the local data with regional, state, and national data. This analysis will be used to guide policy making decisions relevant to the alcohol licensing process.
