21 Century Partnership – AI Manufacturing
The Georgia Artificial Intelligence Manufacturing (GA-AIM) project is part of a federal Economic Development Administration (EDA) grant under the American Rescue Plan program. Georgia Tech (GT) is one of 21 participants awarded a part of this grant and has partnered with the 21st Century Partnership to implement part of the grant in the Middle Georgia area. The 21st Century Partnership has also partnered with the Development Authority of Houston County and Fort Valley State University (FVSU) as a part of this effort. There are 4 main lines of effort associated with this project.
The four Lines of Effort (LOE) are: 1) Develop a STEM pipeline throughout the Middle Georgia area, 2) Implement Partnership Agreements with Industry, K-12 schools, Colleges and Universities, and Innovation Centers to further STEM outreach, 3) Implement a Mobile Learning Program through FVSU, and 4) Facilitate technology insertion and innovation associated with Industry 4.0.
Develop a STEM pipeline throughout the Middle Georgia area
- Working with the area middle and high schools implementing the GA FIRST Robotics program
- Increasing dual enrollment programs
- Increasing STEM internship opportunities, STEM Scholarships, and setting up STEM camps, coding events, and software challenges.
Implement Partnership Agreements with Industry, K-12 schools, Colleges and Universities, and Innovation Centers to further STEM outreach
- Working with local industry, K-12 schools, Colleges and Universities, and Innovation Centers to form partnerships under the Middle Georga STEM Alliance
- Hosting of STEM events, Internships, Scholarships, and dual enrollment programs. They will also include
- Facilitating mentorship opportunities with area STEM students.
Implement a Mobile Learning Program through FVSU
- Implementation of the Mobile Learning Lab by FVSU. This lab will travel to rural and underserved communities to educate students and farmers on Industry 4.0 technologies and precision agriculture.
Facilitate technology insertion and innovation associated with Industry 4.0
- Connecting area companies with resources available through GT to introduce artificial intelligence and other Industry 4.0 technologies into their manufacturing processes. This is a focus of the Middle Georgia Innovation Project (part of the Development Authority of Houston County).
